Mark Hass is an Oregon State Senator from District 14 in Washington County. Before his career in public service, Hass worked as a journalist for many years. He is known for being a tax expert in the State Senate, and was the architect of the recent Student Success Act, which establishes a corporate activity tax to fund K-12 education.

KBOO's Althea Billings spoke with Hass about election innovation in Oregon and creative ways to use the office to address climate change.
