Workplace expectations at KBOO radio include: effective verbal and written communications, conflict de-escalation, skillful volunteer relations and utilization, capable project management, work-area organization, response to phone calls and correspondence, teamwork and cooperation with other employees, volunteers, and Board members; furtherance of KBOO mission, goals and values; meeting attendance and participation; applicable departmental budgeting and punctuality. KBOO is currently implementing a strategic plan for 2011 – 2016., and all positions have responsibilities specified in that plan.

KBOO is an independent, volunteer-driven, listener-funded non-profit FM and web community radio station, broadcasting since 1968 from Portland, OR. Our core mission is to provide programming, training and access to the airwaves for art and educational purposes. Our program charter focuses on representing points of view and issues that are unconventional or controversial, and serving populations that are underrepresented and underserved on other local radio stations. We are a multicultural, dynamic, and progressive organization.
