Ninety Minutes of Entertaining Folk Music.

The show opens with early morning music, as if you don’t know it’s early when you’re listening.  Believe me, I know about this. I record at home and don’t rise early.  If it weren’t for the station archives, I would never hear the beginning of any of our morning folk music shows on the radio.

The Kingston Trio leads off with "Early in the Morning." There are no other themes, just good folk music.  For example, Nina Gerber and Eliza Gilkyson "Mama’s Got a Boyfriend," Portlander Curtis Salgado sings "My Girl’s a Nut," Peter Kearne sings "Sitting on Top of the World," and Alecia Nugent sings "They Don’t Make ‘em Like My Daddy."  I think my favorite song is Scott Free's "Money for Healthcare, Not for War", which seems to fit right in with our ongoing government infighting.  Thanks again for supporting your community radio station K-B-O-O - Portland.  If you are inspired to contribute right now, the Donate tab awaits you at the top of this page.        Will Selzer
