America's most outrageous film director celebrates entering his ninth decade

John Waters is a legendary filmmaker, author, and raconteur whose books include Shock Value, Crackpot, and Liarmouth and whose films include Pink Flamingos, Desperate Living, Hairspray, and Serial Mom.  Currently, he's touring behind his one-man show Going to Extremes: A John Waters 80th Birthday Celebration.

Ahead of his April 13th appearance at Portland's Aladdin Theater, John sits down with S.W. Conser to talk about his bohemian youth, his loyalty to his hometown of Baltimore, his long-running feud with film critic Rex Reed, his retrospective at the Academy Museum in Hollywood, and his most recent career as a voice actor for animation.
