March 19, 2026:
I created this show to celebrate workers uniting and standing up for basic dignity. Recent investigative reporting by the New York Times brought to mainstream light César Chávez’s abuses of women and children. This news cuts deep for many but a movement is not solely defined by the actions of one man.
This show is dedicated to the women who felt they had to stay silent for the greater good. They shouldered a burden no one ever should.
Especially to Ana Murguia, Debra Rojas, Esmeralda Lopez and Dolores Huerta, cofounder of the NFWA and creator of the phrase “sí se puede” may your legacy and work stand eternal.
Tune it for the last hour of César Chávez Day. We'll get heavy to mix of folk, punk and folk punk all revolving around themes of community, standing up for worker rights, critiquing our capitalist system.
