Norm Diamond hosts this episode of the Old Mole, which includes the following segments:

World Trade Organization: Norm Diamond reflects on the mass protest against the World Trade Organization in Seattle twenty-one years ago today.

Citizen Scientists: Norm Diamond and Patricia Kullberg discuss the role of ordinary citizens in mounting successful challenges to the junk science deployed by fossil fuel corporations to promote their climate-killing mega-projects in the Pacific Northwest. Patricia Kullberg is an activist and science writer with Oregon Physicians for Social Responsibility.

Clean Energy: Bill Resnick speaks with Cathy Becker, who led a successful campaign in Columbus, Ohio for the city to take over the electric utility. They discuss this strategy as the first step in cutting back on the hyper-consumption of elites and the reconstruction of the economic system to benefit everyone. Cathy Becker is a research fellow at the Global Institute for Sustainable Prosperity and an organizer with the movement for 100% clean, renewable energy in communities across the United States.
