Norman Solomon
More neoliberalism vs. resurgent neofascism

Today's guest Norman Solomon is a long-time activist and media critic (and one-time Portlander) who was a pledged Bernie Sanders delegate to the 2016 Democratic National Convention. A long-time associate of the media watchdog group Fairness and Accuracy in Reporting (FAIR), since he was hiredin 1988 to run the new organizatio, Solomon also founded the Institute for Public Accuracy, which works to provide alternative sources for journalists, and serves as its executive director. He also co-founded the online activist group RootsAction.org in early 2011; six years later, it counted more than 1.5 million active members.

Despite his strong support for Sanders, Solomon now feels that defeating Trumpist neo-fascism is the most important political task facing us.

He wrote this piece recently for Common Dreams: https://www.commondreams.org/views/2020/04/23/some-progressives-are-denial-about-trumps-fascist-momentum
