In the first half-hour of this repeat edition, Host Tiokasin Ghosthorse welcomes Veronica Sheehan. Veronica was born in Mexico, lived in the U.S. for 25 years, and has been living in Costa Rica for the past 11 years. Veronica and her husband founded the Sustainability Demonstration Center. Tiokasin and Veronica will talk about sustainability. How is it defined differently in its various contexts and how do we define sustainable living? More information about Veronica's organization can be found at http://www.sustainablecostarica.org/. Tiokasin's guest in the second half-hour is Doug George-Kanentiio. Doug, who is Akwesasne Mohawk, is a founding member of the Hiawatha Institute for Indigenous Knowledge. Doug, a longtime well regarded and accomplished journalist, is a co-founder of the Native American Journalists Association and served as a member of the Board of Trustees for the Smithsonian's National Museum of the American Indian. He is the author of "Iroquois on Fire," among other books, and resides on Oneida Nation Territory with his wife, composer-performer Joanne Shenandoah. Tiokasin and Doug discuss an article that Doug wrote for The Two Row Times newspaper, titled "Ten of the greatest lies in American Indigenous history."
