Each piping-hot serving of Warthog Stew contains a rich, well-seasoned blend of rockin bluesey rootsjam and garage-marinated Americana. Formed in 2015 as a project among three old friends from Detroit and one new one from Dallas, they have been lighting up local clubs and festivals around the Portland area with a simmering blend of original material and re-imagined and eclectic covers.
These boys “stew” everything they do from Bowie to Prince, the Grateful Dead to Tom Waits, Merle Haggard to the Cure. They never play the same tune the same way, and never play the same show twice. When cooking up their next performance, they often spike the Stew with costumey dress-codes or themes; encouraging their audience to dig into the theme as well. In order to bewilder NSA operatives, they frequently switch instruments between songs.
