Types and methods of fertilizing; transplanting veggies and fruiting plants

Host Glen Andresen and co-pilot Jim Gilbert are back in the KBOO studio for a live March show. Wonder how to interpret all those number on a home soil test? We hope to have an expert join us to help analyze and make sense of them. Also, it's time for a little primer on pollination and how can maximize your production. And some tips on fertilizing, and transplanting veggies and fruiting plants.

As always, we'll have a new Plant of the Month (artichoke) and a new Garden Stumper--the first listener who calls in with the correct answer gets a free sharpening of a gardening hand tool from Cully Farm Store in Northeast Portland. Our musical theme this month is "Somebody," a tribute of sorts to Jesse Jackson. Plus, our Dirtbag Dictionary term is "rootstock." And finally, what Glen is trying to understand this month.

Don't forget, if you have a gardening question, and don't want to call in, you can always email us at thedirtbag@kboo.org -- we'll answer your question on the air during the next show. And, surprise, this is the same email to use to answer The Garden Stumper if you don't want to call in.

The Dirtbag, a garden variety show... Listen. Laugh. Learn.
