Country Music on a Winter Morning

Three hours of entertaining country style music.

Starting with Billy Joe Shaver’s classic I Been to Georgia on a Fast Train, the show moves through a variety of country songs, from Hal Ketchum’s Mama Knows the Highway to Honky Tonk Merry Go Round from Patsy Cline and They Call the Wind Maria from a pair of New Mexico sisters. There’s a special set featuring blue and brown eyes, and another set focusing on what it’s like to be locked up, with songs from Cash, Kristofferson, Haggard, Hall, Loretta, and Todd Snider.  Camas native Jimmie Rodgers finishes the show with four of his hits - Honeycomb, Kisses Sweeter than Wine, Oh, Oh I’m Falling in Love Again and It’s Over.  He also sang Honeycomb on the Ed Sullivan Show.  It’s all there for you the morning of January 17th, 6-9am on KBOO. There’ll be Live Chat starting at 7:30.  There’s something about country music that helps us get through the winter.  Plus, regardless of how the weather goes, you know Swing’n’Country will be here come Spring.
