On this edition of Century: World AIDS Day 2025 #WorldAIDSDay #EndAIDS

Ever since it was first established in 1988, World AIDS Day is observed annually on December First. This year, a side event was held December 1 at UN headquarters in New York to commemorate World AIDS Day. Sponsored by UNAIDS and the Missions of Brazil and the Netherlands, this event highlighted the impact of disruptions on the AIDS response, showcased the resilience of countries and communities, and called for global solidarity to end AIDS.

We’ll hear presentations by some of the speakers including Dr. Cesar Nunez, Director of the New York Office of UNAIDS; His Excellency Ambassador Sergio Franca Danese, Permanent Representative of Brazil to the UN; Jesus Aguais, President of Aid for AIDS; and Keren Dunaway, Global Program Officer at the International Community of Women Living with HIV and an NGO Delegate to the UNAIDS Programme Coordinating Board.
