On this edition of Free Culture Radio: Evidence Still Matters #AMERSA2025
The Association for Multidisciplinary Education and Research on Substance use and Addiction, AMERSA, held its 49th annual national conference November 13-15 right here in my home town of Portland, Oregon. The theme of this year’s conference was Evidence Still Matters. We speak with AMERSA Board President Dr. Holly Hagle, AMERSA Executive Director Rebecca Northup, and Dr. Jef Bratberg, Clinical Professor in the Department of Pharmacy Practice at the University of Rhode Island and host of The Regimen podcast.
Plus, the US government refuses to cooperate with the UN Human Rights Council’s Universal Periodic Review process. Regardless, officials from various state and local governments in the US along with representatives of nongovernmental organizations met with the Human Rights Council on November 7 for an Information Meeting on the Universal Periodic Review process in the US. We hear a presentation by one of the invited speakers, Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson.
