A stranded astronaut must walk to safety across the Martian surface where he encounters many strange creatures
Tonight's story first appeared in the July 1934 issue of Wonder Stories Magazines. Before this, stories about aliens in science fiction stories were either just helpers or enemies of humans. But here Weinbaum convincingly puts forth the idea of alien thought and logic. This story proved to be very influencial to many science fiction writers who emerged in the 1940's. And even into the 1970's it would be included in collections and lists of one of the best science fiction stories of all time.
