Prison Pipeline on KBOO Community Radio
Monday, May 5th at 6:30 P.M.
This Monday on Prison Pipeline, we bring you an important conversation about a groundbreaking new partnership between Saprea and Edovo that’s delivering trauma recovery resources to incarcerated survivors of child sexual abuse across the U.S.
Saprea, a nonprofit dedicated to supporting survivors, has created a ten-lesson, trauma-informed curriculum to help incarcerated individuals process the long-term effects of abuse and build coping strategies for recovery. Through Edovo’s educational tablets—available in over 1,100 correctional facilities—this program now reaches incarcerated individuals nationwide.
Given that an estimated 66% of incarcerated women report experiencing sexual abuse as children, this initiative is a critical step in addressing an often-overlooked need inside prisons. We’ll discuss the urgent demand for these resources, the challenges of delivering survivor-focused education in correctional settings, and the impact so far—over 6,000 incarcerated individuals have already completed the course since its launch in December.
Join us for this powerful conversation, only on KBOO, Monday, May 5th at 6:30 P.M.
