Author and Historian Dr. Carmen Thompson and Third Eye Books Owner Charles Hannah will share favorite books by and about Black women who have and are making history

We're celebrating contemporary and historic Black women whose lives have enriched the community and the world.  First time guest, Dr. Carmen P. Thompson is a historian and author of The Making of American Whiteness: The Formation of Race in Seventeenth- Century Virginia.  Dr. Thompson is a highly sought expert on Race and Whiteness in America.  Her scholarship was quoted in the December 2022 Oregon State Supreme Court decision, Watkins v. Ackley, in support of the Court’s conclusion of disparate racial impact of non-unanimous jury decisions.    Charles Hannah is owner of Third Eye Books Accessories and Gifts, Portland's premier Black-owned bookstore.
