The Wiggle Room Halloween Special

This special Halloween radio program features The Wiggle Room host Bill Dodge's conversation with Mike Ball about The Ghosts of North Portland, Lambert, Hendricks and Ross, Screamin' Jay Hawkins, Jack Hilton's ghost jazz: Bogey Wail, Carl Stalling's spooky music composed for Warner Brothers cartoons, Vic Mizzy, Ren and Stimpy's Space Madness with the band Die Sceaming Leiderhosens: Jiminy "Jelly-Roel" Smith on guitar--Rocco "T-Bone" Recardi on bass--Scott "Blind Lemon" Huml on percussion--screams and cackles from Pierre DeCelles, The Master Musicians of Jajouka, Baby Gramps, Monty Python's The Death of Mary Queen of Scots, music from cult movies Carnival Of Souls and Edward D. Wood Jr's Night of The Ghouls, Coyle and Sharpe's Moleman put-on street comedy, Lord Buckley's Scrooge: a swingin' mid-twentieth century modern hipsomatic take on Charles Dicken's beloved Christmas ghost story, John Shirley's evil Nodding Angel--John was the singer for the band Sado Nation and currently for The  Screaming Geezers and songwriter for Blue Oyster Cult--, rare live Velvet Underground and the complete legendary Halloween broadcast of Orson Welles' 1938 War Of The Worlds radio program that scared the hell out of millions of listeners that were fooled into really believing that the Earth was being invaded by Martians with deadly advanced technology and killing machines.

To see and hear the video of The Ghosts of North Portland made by Portland folklorist Mike Ball, click on the ghoulish green link below (the audio only version of this unique conversation about what some might call ghosts-or maybe angels- can be heard in the first half hour of This Wiggle Room Halloween broadcast from the crypt described above.)

And-----Don't forget to click on this link to see Victor Ives hosting Sinister Cinema on Saturday night at 11:15 pm: the show that introduced many Oregon and Washington kids to The Great Grandaddies & Grandmamas of horror cinema's original Children of The Night that have been an enormous influence and inspiration upon film makers, writers and artists for many decades to this day: King Kong-1933, Dracula-1931, Frankenstien-1931, The Mummy-1932, The Invisble Man-1931, The Bride of Frankenstien-1935 and awful-but-fun-cuz-its-so-bad low budget Republic Studios weekly serials like The Flying Disc Men and lots more Shock and Schlock beaming from our T.V.s every Saturday night on KATU in Portland, Oregon in the 1970s.
