This country’s war on drugs has been a disaster —generating drug violence across the planet and leading to mass incarceration, particularly harming people of color. Yet draconian drug laws and enforcement did not prevent increasing drug use and an epidemic of overdose death. Responding to this colossal failure, on Nov 3rd Oregon Passed Measure 110 that decriminalized possession of small amounts of not just marijuana and also provided funds for increased drug treatment. Bill Resnick talks to Tera Hurst of the Oregon Health Justice Recovery Alliance about Measure 110 that it sponsored. M 110 by far leads national efforts to decriminalize and offer treatment and must be well implemented to succeed. Bill and Tera discuss Measure 110’s  significance, and what must be done to implement it.
