Defund DAPL

December first marks the beginning of what’s being called a “global month of action” for those in opposition to the Dakota Access Pipeline.

Protests took place in multiple cities across the globe at banks known to be funding the construction of the crude oil pipeline.

Protesters were calling for individuals to close their personal accounts as well asking corporations to divest from the ongoing construction project.

In Minneapolis this morning, protesters clashed with Wells Fargo security guards as they attempted to block Wells Fargo employees from entering lobby elevators.

Locally, a crowd of about 200 people marched from Pioneer Square to the steps of the Wells Fargo Center.

Several protesters who had intended to close their accounts at the banking center were turned away by bank security who told the customers that the banking center was closed.
