Music from around the world and across all categories. Whole World Music.

Craig Burk returns to Randomonium with Whole World Music featuring roots reggae from Johnny Clarke, the subtle vocal stylings of Doris Day and Johnny Mathis, the original provocateurs Alan Vega and Martin Rev aka Suicide (1970s New York City), supreme diva of the Arab music world Uum Kulthum, and gypsy guitarist Manitas de Plata, flamenco’s version of Jimi Hendrix.

Plus the in-your-face hip-hop-meets-electronica-meets-Brazilian-pop of Rebeca Matta, 1960s free jazz from Norway’s Jan Gabarek on tenor and Terje Rypdal on guitar, Jean Ferrat singing a poem by French surrealist Louis Aragon, a traditional table song from the Tsinadali Choir of Georgia, South African firebrand the late Brenda Fassie, and Hoboken (NJ)-based arty-indy rockers Yo La Tengo.  And classic performances from Harry Belafonte and Sarah Vaughan. It’s music from around the world and across all categories. Whole World Music
