In our celebration of Jazz Appreciation Month, my guest cohost will be Dr. Pancho Savery who is a Professor of English, Humanities, and American Studies at Reed College. He is also a Jazz Historian with extensive knowledge of the Harlem Renaissance.

 

Today’s feature will be that of the great Edward Kennedy Ellington known professionally as Duke Ellington. This show is entitled

“Three Shades of Duke” and will present, his recordings, his music by other musicians and songs about him.
