Official Oregon State Website A Great Resource

(http://www.oregonauthors.org/).   The Oregon Authors Website is designed to be the statewide network for Oregon authors to promote their books, connect with local readers and writers groups, identify local publishers and libraries that can support their work, and keep informed of statewide literary opportunities and events.

The website is also a tool for readers to find their next book, educators to support their curriculum, and libraries to provide readers' advisory. * Oregon authors may apply for a username and password to create/update their own page. Here is a link to the online application: http://www.oregonauthors.org/contact/index.php?cType=author *

Oregon based publishers may list their company in the 'Oregon Publishers Directory'. Here is the link to submit your publishing company's information: http://www.oregonauthors.org/contact/index.php?cType=publisher *

Readers and writers groups in Oregon may list their organization in the 'Readers and Writers Group Directory'. Here is the link to submit your groups information: http://www.oregonauthors.org/contact/index.php?cType=group *

If you have an announcement that applies to readers and writers statewide, please let me know (send email to katie.anderson@state.or.us<mailto:katie.anderson@state.or.us>) and I will post it on the homepage blog: http://www.oregonauthors.org/ The Oregon Authors Website launched in 2009. At the time of the launch only data on books published in 2007-2008 by authors living in Oregon was uploaded into the website. The Oregon Library Association's Oregon Authors Committee members continually add authors/titles as they are promoted in the media. This means that there are gaps that need to be filled. Oregon authors are encouraged to apply for a username and password so they can complete their bibliography and keep it up-to-date. Only by working together will we be able to maintain this wonderful resource! Please let me know if you have any questions. Thank you,
