The first month of 2010 is almost over

Monday's board meeting went way long.  My nerves were frayed by the end, but we started out great with a Burns Night celebration brought to us by Maire Cullen.  I hope to feel recovered in time for the Square Dance Saturday night, dancing under the full moon.

I love listening to KBOO during the membership drive, especially hearing the names of the new members.  Welcome new members!  When people call in and donate money it makes the reality that people are listening and being touched by what they hear much more true than arbitron numbers.  Thanks to all the volunteers who make the drive possible, answering phones and pitching on the air, programmers creating special programming, donors who've provided thank you gifts like books and CDs, and staff who work in overdrive each time to pull off a massive effort.

I'm sad that we'll be losing Arthur Davis the station manager and web coordinator Marc de Guire,  but wish them both the best where ever they go next.  The board will be challenged to step-up our efforts to work together in coordination with committees, staff and the membership at large to move forward, while ensuring some measure of stability as we go through yet another period of change.
