General Description: To meet or exceed KBOO’s budgeted Fundraising goals, to manage KBOO’s membership database and to maintain relationships with members and listeners as well as businesses that support KBOO.
 
Qualifications

  • Ability to learn and maintain membership database or client management software. DonorPerfect Online preferred.

  • Ability to train and supervise volunteers.

  • Experience and/or ability to work with donors preferred.

  • Problem-solving skills related to fundraising and membership services.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Excellent skill in communication and customer service

  • Organizational and time-management skills and attention to detail.

  • Event planning and promotion skills.

  • Ability to work well under pressure and without direct supervision.

  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as necessary.

  • Ability to compile and analyze data.

  • Experience in public or community radio preferred.

  • Ability to work with a wide variety of people in multicultural, cooperative, respectful, racial justice and anti-oppressions organization.

  • Computer skills. (Database, Google G Suite, Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Publisher)

Essential Functions

  • Identify and address institutional and individual acts of oppression at KBOO. Ensure there is interruption of the oppression, follow-up and support for those impacted as well as documentation/record keeping of the incident.

  • Coordinate regular membership drives in cooperation with the Development Director, Volunteer Coordinator and other staff including: planning, developing forms and procedures, obtaining and processing thank you gifts, advertising, obtaining meal donations, training and supervising staff and volunteers, supervising shifts, data entry, and follow-up.

  • Support the Development department with fundraising events, major donor relationships, annual report and other direct mail campaigns.

  • Maintain membership database.

  • Coordinate and oversee membership activities, including: member inquiries, recaptures, renewals and cancellations, benefits, mailings, membership cards, EFTs (electronic funds transfers), follow-up mailings and phone calls.

  • Work on designing and maintaining KBOO merchandise with staff.

  • Prepare timely and accurate membership drive reports.  Prepare quarterly Membership Report for the Board of Directors and staff.

  • Work with Finance Department to reconcile finances and to track contributions. Track expense line items that are related to membership.

  • Recruit, train, and supervise and maintain relationships with volunteers, as needed, to support the membership department.

  • Attend staff meetings.

  • Attend staff trainings.

  • Work to implement KBOO's Mission, Vision, Program Charter, Affirmative Action Plan, AND KBOO's House Rules

  • Other duties as assigned.

 
Salary
This is a full-time salary position with a starting salary of $31,426.38. The employee shall be eligible for annual step increases subject to conditions in KBOO Collectively Bargained Agreement.
 
Probationary Period
KBOO is a union shop and all (non management) staff are members of Communications Workers of America (CWA)- Local 7901. Any person hired will be required to join and pay dues to CWA Local 7901 after 90 days. There is a six month probationary period. This period is not to be construed as a contract.
 
Benefits
Benefits include medical and dental coverage, disability and life insurance, and credit union eligibility. This position also offers paid vacation, sick leave, and 11 paid holidays per year, in accordance with KBOO’s Collective Bargaining Agreement. FSLA-exempt employees receive paid compensatory time off. Eligibility for the retirement plan is one year after the date of hire.

KBOO has a small paid staff and about 500 volunteers. KBOO has regular membership drives. They require an intense amount of time and coordination. The atmosphere is hectic and stimulating. The ability to work in this kind of environment is essential.
