Mitchell S. Jackson on his book "Oversoul: Stories and Essays"

Portland native Mitchell S. Jackson reads from his new book Oversoul: Stories and Essays, a collection of semi-autobiographical short stories and essays. Jackson is now a professor at NYU, but his book explores growing up black in Portland. Later he speaks about his life and work with KBOO's Paul Roland. Jackson’s work examines the conflicts that arise in those who have seen their dreams beaten back, who realize the smallest of victories, and who still believe in redemption.
