PETER PINCETL with COLETTE PETERS, Director, Oregon Department of Corrections.  Colette S. Peters was appointed to serve as Director in February 2012.  She previously served as the Director of the Oregon Youth Authority (OYA) for several years.  As DOC Director, Ms. Peters oversees the operations and policies of a corrections agency responsible for managing approximately 14,000 incarcerated individuals in 14 prisons across the state.

For November, we like to present a live program, and this year Professor Ginger Kitty will join Fortunato at the studio as we present two stories from the work of magical realist writer Jorge Luis Borges.First we'll present "The Improbable Impostor Tom Castro",  from his first collection of stories A Universal History of Iniquity (1935). And from his final collection, Shakespeare's Memory (1983), we will read "Blue Tigers"Professor Kitty, member of the English Department of Cortland University, Cortland New York, will also explain to us what constitutes the genre of magical realism.
