“Ida B Wells: A Passion for Justice” is a documentary about pioneering African American journalist, activist, and suffragist of the post civil war era. The film will be followed by a discussion on the struggle for women and Blacks to win the right to vote in the U.S. The showing will be this Saturday at the Bread and Roses Center, 819 N. The Fifth Annual Haitian Caribbean Festival is this Saturday at Colonel Summers Park at SE Taylor and 17th avenue from 12 to 6pm. The festival will feature music, dance, crafts, kids activities, food, and more with all proceeds going towards shipping a relief container to Haiti.
