The Salem Progressive Film Series will show the documentary, “Good Food” TONIGHT at the Grand Theatre.  Doors open at 6:15, film begins at 7 PM.  The Grand Theatre is located at 191 High Street. NE, at the corner of Court and High Street, in downtown Salem.  This documentary tours small family farms and orchards of the Pacific Northwest, and following the film will be guest speakers Karl Kupers from the Center for Sustaining and Natural Resources Advisory Committee and Steven Perkins, Owner, Baker, Cascade Baking Co.  More information at salemprogressivefilms.net

Art on Alberta's 11th Annual Art Hop festival is taking place Saturday, May 15th, and need volunteers to help run the event. Volunteers will be able to take part in a variety of activities like setting up the stages and booths, helping out in the kids area, general maintenance, and rallying the crowds. Maryhill Museum is proud to host a reception for the 4th Annual Gorge Artists Open Studio on FRIDAY May 14th, from 5-7 pm.  Meet the artists and see how art is made and bring home some art treasures!  Admission is FREE.  Gorge Artists Inc. is a non-profit dedicated to improving the viability of the arts and artists in the Columbia River Gorge.  Maryhill Museum of Art, its café, museum store, gardens and picnic grounds, overlook the Columbia River on Washington’s SR 14, just west of US 97 and across the Biggs Rapids-Sam Hill Bridge from I-84. SCRAP is seeking a Co-Pilot/Navigator to help their Reuse and Recovery Specialist pick up donations once or twice a month from Portland-area businesses.  As SCRAP initiates a new program, called Fill Minds, Not Landfills, they will be in need of a friendly volunteer seeking an active role in promoting creative reuse and environmental sustainability.
