Portland's Bull Run Watershed is a natural, low cost and very effective water treatment system. So why are there there plans for a costly chemical filtration plant? How did the corporation Montgomery, Watson, Harza Global influence the decision process? How will it affect local breweries? What happens to Bull Run protections? What about the $770 million dollar price tag or the pressure to "blend" our water with polluted river water?  What about getting a variance through the EPA or Congress?  The City Council vote is set for July 29.  Regna Meritt, Executive Director of Oregon Wild explains why this meeting is so important, why the City needs at least another month to consider all the ramifications, and how you can get involved. More info at Friends of the Reservoirs.  Regna can be contacted at: rm@oregonwild.org Hosted by Stephanie Potter.
