Author Dan Fleshler’s recent book, Transforming America’s Israel Lobby: The Limits of Its Power and the Potential for Change, offers insights into the shifts taking place in the pro-Israel American Jewish community, including growing dissent against what he calls the “conventional Israel lobby”.

Nationally known, PAMPTA award winning, songwriter Greg Paul applies his talent to clever lyrics and catchy tunes the audience will be singing all year long! And the book by local writer Kim Bogus incorporates jokes for kids and jokes for adults, including an homage to a classic SNL skit.

In the Dalles, the Cascade Singers' Christmas concert features "A Classical, Romantic Christmas" honoring the 200th anniversary of Franz Joseph Haydn's death and Felix Mendelssohn's birth. The program will begin and end with Mendelssohn's "Weihnachten" for eight-part choir. It is one of six pieces Mendelssohn composed for various feasts or seasons of the church year, and was completed Christmas Day 1843.The Performances take place on SUNDAY at 3pm and SATURDAY at 8pm at the Zion Lutheran Church on 10th & Union Street in the Dalles. The choir, directed by Lloyd Walworth, will be joined by chamber orchestra and organ.
