Discussion of Sandra Bland's life and activism before her death in prison
As part of our Memorial Day, program, Jan Haaken and Mike Snedeker pay tribute to Sandra Bland, the 28-year-old black woman who was found hanged in a jail cell in Waller County, Texas after being arrested during a minor traffic accident. Bland was part of the Black Lives Matter movement, including through her video activism. Mike and Jan discuss her life and work, and the complicated ways that the personal and political intersect in the lives of activists.
