A Vancouver Folk Festival preview! The Festival takes place July 13-15 at Jericho Beach Park in Vancouver, BC.

Performers that I'm really excited about include the Atomic Duo (one-half is ex-Bad Liver Mark Rubin),  the Barr Brothers, the foul-mouthed Geoff Berner, Mark Berube, the francophone Canailles, Amelia Curran, e.s.l., David Essig, Roy Forbes (aka Bim), Los Gaiteros de San Jacinto, Dene songwriter Leela Gilday, Hey Rosetta!, Veda Hille, Dan Mangan, Emel Mathlouthi of Tunisia, Alejandra Robles, Sidi Touré of Mali, Cedric Watson et Bijou Créole (who will also be at the Waterfront Blues Festival), Wazimbo, and Royal Wood.

While I was not able to play Alejandra Robles, Cedric Watson, Wazimbo, or Emel Mathlouthi, I did cover the other performers I thought will be highlights -- and most have a bandcamp or myspace page to hear more music.
