Tonight we go to Sweden in the late 1960s, with Terry Riley's epic Olson III, composed as a homage to Sweden and recorded at the Nacka Music School in Stockholm with a bunch of high school students. We also listened to Parson Sound and International Harvester, a pair of groups with many same members, who were students of Riley during his visit to Sweden, and whose music follows a similar path to his trance-minimalism, albeit in a more rocking context.
