Portland based musician Zak has been immersed in musical culture and the performing arts since the young age of 5 when he started playing the viola. After years of dedicated hard work, Zak became quite the accomplished musician, accumulating a long list of orchestras, performances, and even commercial work in the film industry. In the early 2000’s Zak discovered electronic music and immersed himself wholeheartedly. For the last 10 years he has been experimenting with various forms of recording, production, arraignment, numerous electronic and acoustic band projects, as well as playing DJ sets.
Plantrae entered the world in the summer of 2012, performing at a number of highly re- garded events and has since shared stages/lineups with Desert Dwellers, Knowa Knowone, Heyoka, Emancipator, Tipper, Bonobo, Ott, Vibesquad, Random Rab, Ill Gates, Jamie Janover, Ill-Esha, Govinda, Stephan Jacobs, Phutureprimi- tive, Kaminanda, Gladkill, Filastine, Russ Liquid,Love and Light, Kalya Scintilla, Thriftworks, The Human Experience, and many more.
