Next steps in the US Department of Justice Investigation and settlement with Portland Police
Can the Portland community expect Police Accountability? Today's press conference with the US Department of Justice Civil Rights Division, the Portland Police Association, the City of Portland and the AMA Coalition for Justice & Police Reform declared mediation was a success? What does that mean to the public who has seen very little in terms of real reform and real leadership to make this happen. Join me tomorrow as we talk about next steps in the settlement agreement that Mayor Sam Adams negotiated behind closed doors with the DOJ. When will the public have a chance to weigh-in? Federal Judge Michael Simon will set the schedule for a community fairness hearing. His question will be is the settlement agreement fair to all parties. Find out how you can get educated about the issues and participate in the fairness hearing tomorrow on Voices from the Edge. Its important that the public understands what the DOJ found when they investigated Portland Police officers.
