Making Facebook Work (better) for you

KBOO is open to the public! To visit the station, contact your staff person or call 503-231-8032.

Are you publicizing your program via Facebook? You should be! And here's how to make it cooperate.

Facebook! It's the internet site we love... and love to hate.

Part of that is how little control you have when you're doing just about anything.

If you are trying to publicize your show (hey, if you aren't, why not?), there are a couple of rules of thumb that will make it a better experience.

Start by uploading a Schedule Episode on kboo.fm with a photo, and a good description of what will be happening on your show. Sell the sizzle!

Okay!

Magically (or something) it will end up on the website's front page. But I've gotten ahead of myself...

Now, you want to copy the link to your Schedule Episode. It will be the first page that comes up once you've saved your Schedule Episode, or, you can find it by looking at My Content in Control Panel on the right sidebar.

Got that Schedule Episode URL? Okay, go to Facebook, log in, and Share a Link. Then just paste in the URL, and it will automagically populate the text, and give you a selection of photos that you can attach to the shared link.

Now, you've linked directly to the Schedule Episode so you get your program description, and you've uploaded a photo so you have something to use that isn't the iTunes graphic. Winning!!
