Good Hair & the Black Community

What does it mean to have "good" hair in the Black community?

Where did we get the concept of "good hair"?  What is "bad" hair? Why are we & our community's children STILL tackling this issue?

In 2009, comedian Chris Rock attempted to take a "serious" look at the importance of "good" hair in the Black community, with his documentary Good Hair. While the film stirred conversations, many felt the film fell short in its exploration of this very important topic.

TONIGHT at 7 pm on The Eavesdrop, the ladies of the Kitchen Table Collective, will try to fill in some of those gaps with real conversation for real people.

Listen in and hear the hosts explore the controversial topic of hair in the Black community - good & bad. Better yet, JOIN us in the conversation by calling (503) 231-8187 and share YOUR views about this topic.

We look forward to digging into a topic barely whispered on the streets of Portland.

We're glad you'll join us on ... The Eavesdrop!
