100 years of Oregon women at the polls

Join Bread and Roses host Nico for a look back at 100 years of Oregon women's right to vote!

Oregon women have always been activists, and in 1912 they became some of the first women in the nation to win the right to vote in local elections.

This Friday, March 4th, we'll be "marching forth" with members of the Century of Action, the organization of women historians and public figures who are planning a huge celebration in honor of the anniversary of women's suffrage. Joining us will be Eliza Canty-Jones, Editor of the Oregon Historical Quarterly, and Janice Dilg, independent historian and PSU instructor.  We'll hear protest songs from the era and hear little-known tales of Oregon's women heroes.

Also joining us will be Sue Supriano, a Portland-based activist who took a leading role in the women's movement of the 1970's.
