Goodbye to KBOO and Welcoming our New Web Coordinator

I'm sad to announce that this is my last month here at KBOO, as I will be moving away to be with family. I've found a wonderful second family here at the station and I hope that my time here has been a positive contribution.

While leaving will be difficult, I'm very happy we have selected Dan Gurin to take over my position and continue taking KBOO into the digital realm. The hiring committee had a tremendous amount of highly qualified candidates apply for the position, which made our selection process very challenging. But Dan stood out for a variety of reasons.

Dan joins KBOO with a decade of public radio experience, much of it focused on web management. Working in the past for both KMHD and All Classical, Dan has extensive experience working with volunteers, coordinating advanced content management system websites, synchronizing social media, utilizing audio production and automation, optimizing web-streams, while adhering to legal restrictions. With skills in more areas than I can list, I'm very excited to see the new opportunities he will bring to the station.

Dan will begin his time at KBOO next week, at which point I will stick around a little longer to oversee the transition and help coordinate a meeting with volunteers in the web department. If you're interested in helping with KBOO's web presence but haven't been sure about how to get involved, this will be a great time to step in. Please contact me if you'd like to stay in the loop.

A Friend if Us

Just want to say, thanks for being a friend.

But also, you went beyond the role of your work to make KBOO cool again. We needed that. You also found avenues in your work to get KBOO on the map.

Thank you!

You've been great to work with and I hope you come back to Portland someday. Best wishes for your new life and many blessings... We were lucky to have you at KBOO!
