Dear Listeners,
Happy New Year! Thanks for allowing me in to wake you from your slumber this morning and ease you into the new day and the new year with some fun (and, in cases, improbable) music. I had a blast putting this show together and would love to hear that you enjoyed it!
Here are some of the lyrics from the third track I played this morning, Moscow-born Regina Spektor's "On the Radio." Thoughts to take you into 2010...
"...This is how it works...you're young until you're not...You love until you don't...You try until you can't...You laugh until you cry...You cry until you laugh...And everyone must breathe...Until their dying breath...No this is how it works...You peer inside yourself...You take the things you like...Then try to love the things you took...And then you take that love you made...And stick it into someone else's heart...Pumping someone else's blood...And walking arm in arm...You hope it don't get harmed...But even if it does...You'll just do it all again...And on the radio...You'll hear November Rain...That solo's awful long...But it's a nice refrain...You listen to it twice...'Cause the DJ is asleep..."
Keep your circle of friends close in 2010...keep music spinning on your CD player...keep dancing and singing...keep open to new things in this new year...fall in love!
Warmly,
Diane Hunt
Comments
Your Friday morning, First day of the new year program.
Thank you for your wonderful and creative selection of music. It was such a pleasure to hear.
I wish more of radio music could be a thoughtful careful selection of genres, styles, periods types
of music. Please do it again or have a regular time of such diverse music.
Goosebumps
Dear Friend,
Here it is, nearly three weeks later, and I am still getting goosebumps from my New Year's Day listeners. I only just now saw your email from the 2nd of January...but that's a good thing in that it prolonged the pure joy I experienced by throwing out into the universe (and into your ears) some of the finest music that God and Man have made. That New Year's Day special program was one of the most funnest things I've ever done....and I've done a lot of interesting things! I am humbly grateful to you, whoever and wherever you are, for your kind compliments. And now *I* must compliment *you* on your exquisite musical tastes!
Warmest regards,
Diane Hunt, DJ
