Daniel Ellsberg's voice - however briefly - lit up the 'Air Cascadia' waves
Ellsberg spoke with me via cellphone while waiting in line at the airport and going through the TSA's new! Improved! security. Which, we are constantly reminded, is distasteful but "It's for our own good." It's because the ponderous, semi-conscious National Security apparatus cares only for our safety.
The occasion was the release on WikiLeaks of pfc Bradley Manning's voice as he explains his motivation for blowing the doors off the Great American Secret, the Star Chamber, Room 101, revealing the truth that never makes the headlines.
Go back and review 'Collateral Murder', then listen to Manning's voice calmly and stoically stating why he pulled off the single act of courage in these years of brutal mindless war waged on behalf of corporate interests and little else. Indeed, what Bradley Manning did has made us 'safer' than all the drones in Hell; all the Lost Boys alone in FOB's scattered across ravaged landscapes, in places they couldn't find on a map even if the names of those countries were spelling out right there on the page.
