New Report Details Record Number of Murders in 2011 Due to LGBTQ and HIV Status

At least thirty people were killed last year in the United States either because of their gender identity or H-I-V status according to a report released yesterday.

The report’s authors found an eleven percent increase in murders of Queer-identified and H-I-V positive individuals over the previous year.

KBOO reporter Ross Freeman Levin spoke with Chai Jindasurat from the National Coalition of Anti-Violence Programs, who co-authored the report.
