Coal Trains are Commin' to the Great NorthWest

 Hosted by Joe Uris

There are plans afoot to build Coal Export Terminals on the Oregon Coast, and transport Huge Quantities of Coal for Export across our state by rail.  This is a Bad Idea, for myriad reasons.  Coal Trains leave a trail of Coal Dust in their wake that has adverse health effects on anyone living near the tracks.  Burning Coal is bad for the Environment, and the Open Pit Mines this coal will come from will scar the Earth forever.

Our guests today are Bethany Cotton, with GreenPeace, and Dan Serres from the Columbia River Keeper.  We'll talk about the Pro's and Con's of the Mining, Transporting, and Burning of Coal.

(Hint:  There are no Pro's...)
