A government informant who reported on Earth Liberation Front activists has been sentenced

A government informant who reported on a number of Earth Liberation Front activists has been sentenced to two years in prison for selling heroin and violating parole.

Jake Ferguson avoided prison five years ago by informing on activists, wearing a wire and encouraging people to carry out acts of arson against companies known to damage the environment.

The federal government used Ferguson despite knowing that he was a heroin addict and was known to be unreliable.

The people he turned in are now servicing sentences of between three and thirteen years, many of them with “terrorism enhancements” that require them to be locked away from the general population.

Because he worked as a government informant, Ferguson was originally sentenced to no jail time and five years probation, despite having been the most prolific arsonist in the history of the earth liberation movement.

In April, he was arrested for dealing heroin, and was sentenced today to twenty-seven months for both the heroin and the parole violation charges, which will be served concurrently in a federal prison.

The Earth Liberation Front has been targeted by the FBI as the nation’s second most dangerous terrorist group, after the Animal Liberation Front, despite the fact that the E-L-F has engaged exclusively in property destruction, and has never killed or injured anyone.
