The Multnomah Bar Foundation and Elders-in-Action invite you to a free presentation, called, “Be Your Own Advocate: Consumer Protection & Safety”,  on how to protect yourself from scams and frauds, including Identity Theft, door-to-door scams, high pressure sales tactics, and mail fraud. According to the Oregon State Dept. of Justice, 90% of scams and frauds are first tried out on older adults to see if they will work on the general public. Don't be a victim-- come and invite your friends and neighbors. The event will be held on Friday, April 8, from 1:00 to 2:30 pm at St. Matthew's Episcopal Church, 11229 NE Prescott Street in Portland. For more information, call 503-252-5720.
