Our first show after moving to Fridays will gave a sneak preview of the Beat Off battle at Holocene.
THE BEAT OFF is a live sample based beat battle. each beat maker has one hour to create a beat that is under three minutes long, and uses only the sounds provided.
On the show we had the battle's organizer, Erik Beats, along with 3 competitors of past beat offs: Dirty X Rated, The New Plastic, and Trick Assed Marxist.
We had a special treat with a live beat off battle on the air, where we played some samples for everyone to hear and then they all had less than 45 minutes to make their beats.
We also heard recordings of past beat off battles, and the work of some of the artists who have competed.
