Washington County Project Homeless Connect

On any given night, nearly fourteen hundred people are homeless in Washington County, according to the county's housing services department.

In 2008, county commissioners adopted a ten-year plan to end homelessness. One group working significantly towards this goal is the Vision Action Network, a Washington County community advocacy group/

Tomorrow, they will be hosting an event, in its fifth year, that brings volunteers together to connect homeless with critical services and resources in a single day.

KBOO reporter Jenn Chavez spoke wih Karen Kelley-Torregroza, Vision Action Network's Executive Director, who gave more details on Project Homeless Connect 2011.
