Portland Give Back will be hosting a benefit for the Oregon Humane Society during the Alberta Art Walk Event (“off the beaten path”) TONIGHT, featuring canine pencil drawings by Ramon Marshall and whimsical acrylic and pastel pet art by Teena Wood.  Enjoy drinks, food and socializing!   The benefit will be held from  5:30-10pm at Oregon First NE Branch Office, located at 5136 NE Garfield Ave. – that’s one one block west of MLK in Portland. For 142 years the Oregon Humane Society has been sheltering abandoned animals, fighting cruelty and neglect, and working to build a caring, compassionate community here in Oregon. This is a FREE event, but donations are suggested to benefit this cause. More information at 503-285-4382.

The Tenant Rights Project is sponsoring a community forum, entitled, PEOPLE'S BEDBUG AND TENANT RIGHTS SUMMIT.  Deborah Kafoury and other invited public officials, will focus on Oregon Landlord-Tenant Law, vector control issues,  pest control practices, along with tenants forming tenant unions to fight landlords mismanaging low-income, and student, housing habitability and livability issues.  This FREE event will be held SATURDAY, January 29th, from 12:00 - 2:00 pm, at the PSU Chit Chat Cafe, located at 1907 SW Sixth Ave., in Portland.   More information at 503-222-2974.

Are you a parent of a teen?  Attend the workshop, “Wheeling and Dealing with your Teen - From Surviving to Thriving”  Topics include: Understanding the Teen Experience, Reducing Conflict and Improving Communication, Responding to Defiance and Respect Issues, Addressing Homework and School Accountability, Setting Limits, and Encouraging Success.
