Interview with Hilary McBride,Emerald People's Utility District & the Turnidge trial continues

In Seattle, the audio recorded by the on-board police car video shows that a Seattle officer ordered Native American master wood carver, John Williams to drop his knife, gave the man (who, let’s admit it, was half in the bag, but still…) 4 seconds to make a decision and then shot at point blank range.  Williams is dead.  And the trial of Seattle Police Officer Ian Burke staggers on  - itself half in the bag.  Four seconds.  Try this at home, minus the cop:  Drink a couple of “fortified”  beverages, get a knife from the drawer next to the sink in the kitchen.  Got a watch or a clock with a sweep second hand?  Go find one.  Better still, a stopwatch.  Have another beer;   you sort of get used to that metallic tang.  Note the time.  Think about dropping the knife (Actually, a paintbrush, a small musical instrument, a tap shoe, a lump of clay, will do).  Drop the object, whatever it is.  Again, note the time.  Now play dead.    The officer's lawyer, Tim Buck, says the new materials don't tell the whole story of the shooting.  That could be your epitaph:  ‘This isn’t the whole story’…

Get This:  Yesterday the  Bonneville Power Administration’s  Stephen Wright invited folks to “pray for snow and economic recovery.”  In case that doesn’t work the BPA plans to raise rates.   As we know all too well, one-third of the electricity consumed in the Pacific Northwest comes from the BPA.  And they are going to hit Lane County in the near future.   But not that part of  the County that opted for a public utility district. The Emerald People’s Utility District has indicated it won’t be raising customer rates next year. Why?  Locally-owned says  Emerald's Community Relationms Officer Hilary McBride.  Portland, you eat locally, but you're not cooking locally.  Not long ago, we almost got there...but we were out-lawyered, out-gunned and out-moneyed by the power industry's corporados...and here we are.
