During his west coast tour, the funny and talented Herb Ohta, Jr. recently visited Portland for an 'ukulele concert, educational outreach, and master classes. APA Compass caught up with him and had the pleasure of sitting down for an interview after his elementary school concert. Many thanks to the Kiako Foundation for arranging Herb's visit and our interview. Interviewed and produced by Andrew Yeh.
Nothin like spending fourth of July with a band from Berlin!
After 77 years of world-history Modern Pets are still part of the cosmic joke!
With their shy-style mongo attitude they´ll get you to give them your last cigarette, your keys and all your cash...
Along with Autofick they stab your back with a blast of new wave hipstershitpunk.
"Fortunately, there ain't nothing modern about the rotten Pet Sounds of these lose cannons... They lit their snot-filled crackerjacks on their cigarette butts and throw them straight into the face of all the yuppie scum and career advisors, covering the cities in good old Punkrock slime."
Our first music break is from Play/Start titled 'The Alibi'
We welcome Samuel, the Mastermind behind the festival, to the show and he shares all the important details of this upcoming event.
